The Rise of Non-Invasive Procedures

By Brentz Walker

Patients who choose non-invasive procedures has gone up in recent times, statistics have shown. Surgeries like breast augmentations and tummy tucks remain popular, but procedures that do not involve going under the knife are rapidly gaining in popularity. These non-invasive types of procedures usually involve injection or laser technologies. The reason for the shift is due to many factors.

Following a recent cosmetic procedure, there are 2 choices to pick from. Staying inside for the healing process is an option. You could also just go on with your daily life, but other people could see that you have had a procedure, if there are still bandages or physical signs of another kind. You could keep it a secret from all, but it usually is not the best idea.

The good thing is that it's actually not easy for someone to notice a non-invasive procedure, when handled by an expert. Sometimes people may sense something has changed about you, but can't quite pinpoint what it is. When discretion is a concern, a non-invasive option like this is a good choice.

Because we lead busy lives, private time to recover isn't available sometimes. A non-invasive procedure can be done on Friday, and Monday morning, the patient can return to work, and this is a huge advantage. There are more complex procedures in cosmetic surgery that are nowhere near as quick and simple as these non-invasive choices. A quick Botox on one's lunch hour, however, has wide-spread appeal for both men and women. It's much easier to heal over the weekend from laser treatment than to have to schedule time off of work in order to recover from a more intensive cosmetic surgery.

Risks are involved with any type of procedure. Of the risks involved, the largest is with the general anesthesia that is used. It can cause severe and adverse reactions in some patients. Waivers need to be signed when this is used. One can eliminate the risk associated with general anesthesia by having a simple procedure done that is non-invasive in nature.

Because of a variety of factors, including the fact that there seems to be a recession going on, non-invasive procedures have been going up, and more serious cosmetic surgeries are going down. The long and short of it is, it's less expensive to have a non-invasive procedure done. In most cases, a health plan will not pay for a cosmetic procedure; they are considered elective. Saving money to have a cosmetic procedure sometimes gets left behind when other more pressing financial concerns are coming forth.

Non-invasive procedures, however, are much less expensive. A treatment of a Botox injection will be about ten minutes long, but often it makes the patient as satisfied as a more expensive face lift. It makes sense to have a non-invasive procedure when money is tight, as it's effective and works well.

Non-invasive procedures can be every bit as noticeable as the expensive surgical options. A natural, more youthful appearance is usually the desired result of any procedure. For those who would like to get rid of unsightly lines on their forehead or want some hair added, great benefits can be gained from a non-invasive procedure. General anesthesia is not required, they can be fast, even only ten minutes, and non-invasive procedures have a minimal risk involved. Often, the patient can go right back to the job. For those who weigh the pros and cons, many decide that the better price, the faster healing, and the desired results can be achieved by non-invasive means. These are some of the reasons that non-invasive procedures are on the rise at this time.
