The HCG Diet Plan Is A Hot Topic Of Conversation For Most People

By Riley T. Simonis

The special drops used in conjunction with decreased daily calorie intake constitute the HCG diet. The body starts to burn stored fat when it uses up the day's calorie intake; a process that occurs faster with a low-calorie diet. While a low calorie diet alone would produce similar results, the supplement used in the diet helps to ensure that muscle mass is maintained and just fat is lost. HCG drops assist in easing any negative side effects, like irritability or fatigue normally associated with low-calorie diets. The HCG diet overall serves as a method of resetting the way the body handles excess fat and uses calories. The implication phase, the training of the metabolism and the maintenance phase are the three stages included in the special diet plan.

During days one and two of the special diet, a high calorie diet is suggested during the initial intake of the HCG drops. This process helps the body to reset its natural fat regulating system to burn more calories and fat when the low calorie diet is begun. Hunger during the low-calorie stage of the diet is decreased because of the initial high calorie intake during the initial phase. The body begins to burn stored fat during the second portion of the special diet in which low-calorie intake ensures that fat will provide a necessary fuel source throughout the process.

During the maintenance phase of the diet, the drops have triggered the body's metabolism to perform as a fat-burning machine. When the maintenance portion of the special diet begins, drops are no longer necessary as calorie intake returns to normal.

The body's new, rearranged fat-burning process should not be upset by higher calorie intake, and the increase needs to be done slowly. During the maintenance phase of the diet, weight should be monitored carefully to confirm that the body's restructured metabolism is preserved throughout the calorie increase.

With the low-calorie intake during the diet program, only light exercise is recommended for the physical activity portion of the diet. Heavy exercise could cause fatigue and starvation as the body burns the few calories it has for energy faster. There are no known side effects of the plan and the hormones in the drops will not create any interference with menstrual cycles. Higher calorie intakes required for nourishment during pregnancy cause the the plan to yield little to no results if used by pregnant women.
