Health Tips To Assist Individuals Reverse Insulin Resistance

By Mattie MacDonald

Individuals are always in a continuum between disease and health. Some of the illnesses are chronic while others are acute. Diabetes is an example of a chronic illness. In this case, individuals are not in a position to control their blood sugars and therefore it fluctuates abnormally. One cause of this fluctuation is resistance to usual control mechanism; this far, it has been established that one can reverse insulin resistance by simple interventions like diet and exercise moderation.

Consumption of high amounts of carbohydrates is the primary factor which results to high sugars in vascular system. A precise way to prevent this from occurring is therefore by simply by avoiding or limiting intake of related food components. Instead of these sugar rich foods, one who is a victims of such resistance should eat more fatty and protein rich food. If carbohydrates must be eaten then they have to be taken in the least possible quantities and gradually.

Exercise is yet another effective way of reversing chronic fluctuations in blood sugars. This may be possible in two ways; first is by eliminating excess sugars in the blood. During intense exercise, body cells consume much of available sugars through respiration and therefore there is no overload of the vascular system with carbohydrate. Secondly, intense activity promotes consumption of carbohydrates and therefore reduces production of insulin. Over a period of time, insulin levels begin to stabilize.

When these two mentioned aspects are carried out side by side, they appear to have an additive effect to overall success. Exercise is best in achieving temporary control but may be very effective when used consistently and alongside diet control. Better still, exercise serves to reduce production of adrenalin from adrenal cortex. This effect limits release of triglycerides into bloodstream from the liver. As a result, no additional carbohydrates are added to general circulation.

Similarly, taking adequate rest serves the same purpose just like above stated components of this treatment. It might be in a form of sleep at night, a nap in the day or simply managing stressing factors in favorable ways. A sleep of up to eight hours in any given night is just adequate to achieve desired effects. Reason behind this is that good rest limits stress related response by the body hence no triggers that increase blood sugar is produced.

Better still, it has been proven that nutritional deficiency contributes to this resistance. Most important among the involved food components are vitamin B6, glut-amine and chromium. If need be, these components should be supplemented to reduces occurrence of resistance in the population. Other food components and or nutrients include manganese, magnesium and vitamin B group among many more.

In line with the above mentioned practices, individuals should also make it their responsibility to avoid intake of substances which trigger release of triglycerides. These substances might originate from drugs of abuse or food substances. They include: smoking, drinking alcohol and also consumption of caffeine.

In summary therefore, all persons should make it their responsibility to remain healthy. This should be the case whether one has been diagnosed with such resistance or not. Even with the disease, one possibly leads a comfortable life and even restores self to a previous healthy state by following simple lifestyle guides. Quality life is an asset that all people should access in whichever way possible and not even diabetes should take it away.
