While watching the news, people would often see that there are people who have died of drowning in the beach, the pool, or any place with deep water. Now in these cases, it is very important that one would know how to swim because there will not always be a lifeguard present to make a dashing rescue. That is why everyone has to take up swimming lessons downingtown pa when they are younger so that they can prepare for such events.
The very core of any swimming lesson would of course be floating on the water. Floating is actually a natural instinct that humans have even when they are infants. The reason why a lot of people cannot float is because they develop a fear of water as they grow up because they would sometimes see people die from drowning.
Now the first thing that one will learn so that he can float would be how to hold his breath underwater. By learning to properly hold his breath, his fear of water will lessen because he knows how he must handle water. From there, he may move on to learning strokes so that he will know how to float and move on water.
After that lesson, the student will then be learning how to position his body in order to do the strokes. Now the proper way to position the body would be to first lie on the front. After he has taken up this position, then he is now ready to do some of the basic moves.
After he has already learned this, then he will then be learning the most basic stroke of them all which will be none other than the freestyle. This is actually the easiest of all strokes to learn because it requires the least body movement. Now to do this, one has to first put his body in the position described above.
Now when he has already done that, then the next thing that he will have to do would be to do a kicking movement to the water. Now in order to do this, he has to kick the water using his right foot then his left foot in small rapid movements. Now this is done so that he will be able to move himself in water.
When he is done learning how to do that, then the next thing that he has to do would be to use his hands to further propel himself. With one hand, he should swing his whole arm to the back and to the front in a full circle. After that, then he should do the same with the other arm and then keep on doing that until he is able to move.
After learning that basic stroke, he will be learning a lot more other moves that will help. He will be learning the dog crawl, the glide and the of course backstroke so that if he gets tired, he may lie down on his back when he is in water. Eventually, he will learn the breaststroke and the butterfly among other advanced moves when he has already perfected the basics.
